Research Summary
MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) is a synthetic peptide derived from an alternative splice variant of the insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) gene, known as IGF-1Ec in humans. It is expressed locally in muscle tissue in response to mechanical overload or cellular stress, and is investigated in skeletal muscle and cellular biology research for its interactions with satellite cell activation pathways, myogenic differentiation mechanisms, and IGF-axis signalling.
