Overview MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) is a synthetic peptide derived from an alternative splice variant of the insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) gene, known as IGF-1Ec in humans. It is expressed locally in muscle tissue in response to mechanical overload or cellular stress and is widely investigated in skeletal muscle and cellular biology research for its interactions with satellite cell activation pathways, myogenic differentiation mechanisms, and IGF-axis signalling. Its distinct C-terminal E-domain sequence differentiates it from other IGF-1 isoforms and makes it a compound of significant interest in mechano-sensitive peptide signalling research.
